Head of Digital Technology

Jamie Unwin is Head of Digital Technology for the Science Museum Group. He joined the Group in 2016 and is responsible for the museums’ online collections and digital infrastructure. Prior to joining the Science Museum Group he helped launch The Guardian website and subsequently ran a digital agency for over ten years, developing sites and platforms for the BBC, Sony PlayStation and the London 2012 Olympics

The potential and pitfalls of machine learning in the Congruence Engine context

This article considers the role of machine learning in the Congruence Engine project. The authors propose that while machine learning and open datasets offer opportunities for the project, this will require a pipeline model with iterative stages of human intervention.
