John Stack is Digital Director for the Science Museum Group. He joined the Group in 2015 and is responsible for setting and delivering its digital strategy. He manages the Digital department which encompasses the museums’ websites, digitised collections, games, apps and on-gallery digital media. Prior to joining the Science Museum Group he was Head of Digital at Tate for ten years and before that editor of the contemporary artists monograph series at Phaidon Press
The potential and pitfalls of machine learning in the Congruence Engine context
This article considers the role of machine learning in the Congruence Engine project. The authors propose that while machine learning and open datasets offer opportunities for the project, this will require a pipeline model with iterative stages of human intervention.
