Ellie Swinbank is Curator of Technology at National Museums Scotland where she is responsible for wide-ranging collections including those relating to energy, industry, manufacturing and materials. Her particular interest is the way our need for energy has shaped landscapes and communities, and how this is represented in museum collections and local memorials. She is also engaged in contemporary collecting around renewable energy and thinking about how collections can be used to facilitate discussions around the climate emergency and energy futures. She sits on the steering groups for Big Stuff Heritage and STICK (Scottish Transport and Industrial Collections Knowledge Network)
