Dr Emily Akkermans is Curator of Time at Royal Museums Greenwich. She obtained her PhD at the University of Edinburgh and has a background in clock restoration and metals conservation. Her research interests include the history of timekeeping at the Royal Observatory, with a particular interest in nineteenth-century time distribution
