Pedro M P Raposo, DPhil, is the Martha Hamilton and I. Wistar Morris III Executive Director of the Library and Archives at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University. In this capacity, Raposo oversees the extensive holdings of the reference library, rare book collection and archives of one the oldest natural history museums in operation in the Americas and their use in teaching, research, outreach, and museum programmes. Raposo was previously Curator and Director of Collections at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. After years researching, curating and presenting the history and material culture of astronomy and related sciences, Raposo is currently focusing on the interrelations between biological specimens and printed and archival sources, and their combined use in history of science and environmental history
