This article explores the work of scientific filmmaker F Percy Smith by examining two notebooks held at the National Science and Media Museum. It emphasises the role of craft in Smith’s working process, drawing attention to the range of everyday materials in his work, while underlining the contributions of his two assistants, Kate Smith and Phyllis Bolté.
