PhD Student

Jules Skotnes-Brown is a PhD candidate in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge, having previously studied at University of Oxford and University of Cape Town. His current research interests are in the development of a settler scientific culture in southern Africa, c. 1890s–1930s, and its role in shaping a new ontology of nature. More broadly, he works on the construction of boundaries between environments, peoples, and disciplines, and the consequences of movement across those boundaries.
