Anna-Maria Sichani

Post-Doctoral Research Associate

Anna-Maria Sichani is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Digital Humanities in School of Advanced Study, University of London, working on the Congruence Engine project. Anna-Maria is also holding a UKRI Policy and Engagement Fellowship in Digital Research and Innovation Infrastructure and a Software Sustainability Institute Fellowship. She has collaborated with various national and international Digital Humanities projects, in the areas of data modelling, advanced analysis of archival records and digital infrastructure. Her research focuses on computational archival science, media and cultural history, advanced computational processing and digital publishing of archival assets, information architecture, ethics of/in technology, cultural and social aspects of transitional media(l) changes, scholarly communication, research infrastructures and digital pedagogy.

The role of digital humanities in an interdisciplinary research project

This discussion paper will reflect on the contribution of DH to complex interdisciplinary projects, using the Congruence Engine as a case study. It will focus in particular on the value of DH, and DH researchers, in bridging perceived gaps between disciplines and in translating between the computational and, in this instance, the historical.
