Michael Pritchard

Director of Programmes, Lecturer, Historian

Dr Michael Pritchard was a camera and photography specialist for Christie’s South Kensington between 1986–2007. His PhD thesis (De Montfort University, 2010) examined British photographic manufacturing and retailing up to 1914. He prepared the Kodak Historical Collection at the British Library for public access and has taught at MA level. He is the Royal Photographic Society’s Director of Programmes. Michael edits The PhotoHistorian and British Photo History blog. He lectures and publishes widely on photographic history with a particular interest in the technology and business of photography
