Alexander King

PhD student

Alexander King is a current PhD researcher at the University of Leeds. He is particularly interested in how science was communicated in the public sphere in the nineteenth century, and how this has helped to shape the scientific disciplines as we now know them. He is currently researching the Penny Cyclopaedia published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. Alex contributed to this article as a master’s student during a work placement with the Science Museum
