Johanna Pollick is a PhD researcher in History of Art at the University of Glasgow. Her thesis, which she is currently revising for publication, is the first detailed study of the artistic and literary motif of Christ’s wounds as ‘wells’ in Later Medieval England. As well as medieval and early modern images of Christ’s wounds, Johanna is interested in medieval conceptions of the senses, the relationship between manuscripts and early printing, and nineteenth century uses of medieval illuminated manuscripts
