Lydia Ackrell

Exhibitions and Interpretation Officer at Elmbridge Museum

Lydia Ackrell is Exhibitions and Interpretation Officer at Elmbridge Museum (Surrey). In this role she curates and manages the Museum’s exhibitions, community displays and associated events. Prior to joining Elmbridge Museum, Lydia successfully worked in exhibitions and interpretation in a number of local heritage institutions including Reading Museum and Wessex Film and Sound Archive. She enjoys collaborating with local groups on oral history projects and working with communities to create unique and accessible displays which unlock historic collections for audiences. While at the Science Museum, Lydia worked as Digital Research and Open Access Fellow. In this role she assisted with the development and growth of the SMG research repository through population of material, data management and marketing
