Theano Moussouri is Professor of Museum Studies at UCL Institute of Archaeology. Her research looks at the role and value of museums as well as the impact museum visits have on people’s social life. Her work in food heritage has been used to shape policy debate related to food and food security in Scotland, England (National Food Strategy, Defra) and Canada (Food Secure Canada). She has a track record of peer-reviewed research publications and has authored two books, Museum Learning: Theory and Research as Tools for Enhancing Practice (2017) and Museums, Identity and Family Practices (2024). She currently serves on the SMGJ Editorial Board and is Co-Editor of Curator: The Museums Journal
